Refresher Course

Our refresher course is for those who have previously taken a course in belaying on top rope or lead but do not feel ready to belay. Perhaps it’s been a while since you took a green/red card and you feel that you want to repeat and practice a little before belaying again. Or maybe you learned how to belay in another country where the climbing regulations are diffrent than in Sweden. For one hour, an instructor will help you (and possibly a friend) to rehearse the parts needed so that you can safely climb on your own.

If you have not belayed before, our top rope course is the best choice to get the green card. The same goes for the red card, if you haven’t done it before, our lead course is the best choice. Please note that you need to have a green card before you can take the red card.

We recommend all our customers to belay with an assisted braking belay device, so you will learn how to belay with the GriGri belay device on the refresher course.

For the course to take place, you must be at least two participants. If you book yourself, you may therefore need to bring a climbing friend as backup. There is no extra cost, but the accompanying friend will need to pay the entrence fee. To repeat top rope belaying, the accompanying friend does not need to have any climbing experience, but for lead belaying, the accompanying friend must have a red card.

Please note that an exam is not included in the course (i.e. if you do not already have a licence, an exam is not included in the refresher course). If you want to book a climbing exam after the refresher course, this can be done as a separate occasion.
